My First Birthday Party

Last weekend, my family gathered together to celebrate my first birthday. Mommy decided to go with an Elmo theme, since we have been watching Sesame Street all summer long.

Here's my birthday cake. Grandma and Grandpa made it for me!

I got so many presents. I had fun opening them.

It was especially fun eating the wrapping and tissue paper!

Look at all the toys I had when I finished opening all my presents!

I can't wait until my next birthday. There's nothing better than having a day that is all about you. I have heard, however, that Christmas is almost as good!

Graduation at Mommy and Me

Today was graduation at my Mommy and Me Class. Mommy and I have been going all summer. We also went last year before she went back to work last fall. Class is much more fun now because I can crawl all over the place.

Here's me with my graduation cap on. I even got a diploma, which I promptly ate.

I am kind of sad to be graduating because I made so many friends at the Mommy and Me class. It was also fun to play with toys that were different than the ones I have at home. Luckily, I am invited to come back to Mommy and Me "Toddler" next summer. I can't wait!

My First Haircut

Today, I got my first haircut. I got to sit in a swing the whole time! They even let me hold my blankie.

I also got to wear this cool cape. It was baby size!

Everyone was impressed by how patient I was...until the end. How long does it take to cut a baby's hair anyway?

This was the final product. Thank goodness--back in Mommy's arms again.

I was actually fine with my hair the way it was...

I have to learn to eat somehow!

Mommy and Daddy have finally started feeding me table food. It's about time. I am learning fast. So far, I like to eat shavings of fruit as well as slices of cheese and cold cuts. Mommy and Daddy think it's pretty messy business and there is always a lot of clean up. Mommy has resorted to just holding me over the sink to clean me up while Daddy cleans off my highchair. I say, I have to learn somehow!

Daddy wanted to make sure you realized that his job of cleaning off the highchair was no piece of cake, so here's a side shot.

An Early Birthday Present

For my birthday, Grandma and Grandpa got me a toy to help teach me how to walk. It's especially cool because when my legs get longer, I will be able to RIDE it, too! Here are a couple of pictures of my new toy!

Here is me using my new toy from Grandma and Grandpa!

Me at the Splashpad

Today, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa took me to the splashpad. It was a lot of fun.

Splashpads are fun because they are made of rubber and have lots of sprinklers on them.

I like to go right up to the sprinklers. I am not afraid of water at all.

Sometimes when the water turns off momentarily, I like to wait right next to the sprinklers so they spray me in the face when they turn on!

Lots of people bring bowls and cups to the splashpad. I like to just "borrow" other people's and pretend they are mine.

Here's a video of me at the splashpad. It was so much fun! This video also shows how well I can walk.
